The Cru

Tenuta Adolfo Spada’s extensive estate vineyard, the pulsating heart of the winery’s activities, is scientifically sub-divided into thirteen separate blocks.
The long experience of local vineyard workers and the research of viticultural experts (Sergio Pappalardo and Luca Paparelli, with overall supervision by Riccardo Cotarella) have led, over the years, to an appreciation of the individual characteristics of each separate unit.
The Cru wines, which embody to the highest degree Tenuta Adolfo Spada’s long experience with Aglianico, Piedirosso, and Falanghina, are the fruit of the most rigorous attention focused on two of the smaller vineyards, Vigna d’Alto, which yields Gladius, and Vigna Camporosso, for Sabus and FiorFlòres. These three wines are the perfect exemplars, then, of the superb richness and complexity of which these historical local varieties are capable.
